I was able to go to the zoo this weekend to get my pictures. It was a good excuse for my husband to take me on a date. However, we were only able to go in the afternoon when the sun was high so I had to make the best of the lighting situation.
I love lions, however this one was pretty lethargic. So I watched him awhile and I thought the way his neck was stretched out made him look powerful and strong.
I think Emu's are kind of goofy looking and I thought that this picture portrayed how I think of emu's. Weird looking. I waited until he looked at me to capture this picture and used a shallow depth of field to get the boca.
I thought the color of these flowers was beautiful. I got down low so I could get a nice perspective of the flowers. I wanted the flower in the front right to be the main focus so I tried to compose the picture so your eye would go there first. All of these pictures have a little levels added and the flower has a slight vignette around the edges.
I can't believe you don't have 100 comments already on your photos. These are some of the best I've seen. I'm so jealous of your lion. (I tried to get a photo like this at the zoo too but I didn't have a zoom.) Great composition on all of your photos. Great bokeh on your last two photos. Wonderful close up of the emu. I like the vignette. Great job.
ReplyDeleteThese are great shots! I really like the bokeh that you have on the emu. The composition is great on the flowers, it's always good to have your focus away from the center. Good job man!
ReplyDeleteAndrea! Great pictures here. I like your pictures here and my favorite would have to be of the Emu. What a way to capture some pure, natural, behavior... not to mention the weirdness of the whole creature. I also like how your flowers turned out. Getting that boca in the background but still giving it the feeling of being in focus is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI love how you took these photographs! The Emy is definitely my favorite. They all have really great composition though. You are definitely looking like a professional! I also love the picture of the flowers. They are so beautiful!
